I JOHN 1;1-2;2--Now I want you to get this truth; THE LORD JESUS CHRIST IS ADVOCATE, NOT FOR SIN, BUT FOR ''SINNERS, SAVED BY GRACE.''[Technically, GOD CANNOT FORGIVE SINS].
John wrote I John, to assure believers, of their position in Christ, and God's Provision for them. The problems, John dealt with, were not only with Sin's Penalty, but with The Fellowship, in The Family of God. The Solution is in Him,Who was from The Beginning.
John declared The Eternity of Christ in His Gospel--JOHN 1;1--''In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.''
''in the beginning''--Here, John carries our thoughts beyond The Beginning of Creation, in Time to Eternity. There is no argument Here, to prove God's Existence any more than in Genesis. It is simply assumed.
''was''-John 3 times uses the imperfect tense of EIMI=TO BE, Which conveys no idea of origin for God, or, for The Word [Logos], but simply CONTINUOUS Existence.
In VERSE 14, DIFFERENT WORD FOR ''WAS''=BECAME, used for The Beginning of TheIncarnation of The Logos.
Distinction sharpely made in 8;58--''Before Abraham came, I Am''.
''The Word'' [ho logos]. Logos=To speak, to express an opinion. The word ''logos'' is used for Reason, as well as, for Speech.
Term logos is applied to Christ only in John 1;3, 14; Revelation 19;13, and I JOHN 1;1--''concerning The Word of Life''.
The Pre-existence of Christ was taught by Paul--2 Corinthians 8;9--''For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.''
Philippians 2;6--''Who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God.''
COLOSSIANS 1;17--''And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.''
HEBREWS 1;2--''Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son,whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.''
Christ's Pre-existence is also taught in JOHN 17;5--[TURN].
The Pre-existent Christ [Logos] became flesh--John 1;14.
''WITH GOD''--Though existing eternally with God, The LOGOS was in perfect fellowship with God. It was on a plane of EQUALITY and INTIMACY, Face to face with each other.
''AND THE WORD WAS GOD''--Personal fellowship, on an Equality, each necessary to the other.
In I JOHN, he emphasized that Christ was FROM THE BEGINNING [1;1]. I JOHN asserts the manifestation of Christ, IN TIME. John heard, saw, looked upon, and HANDLED The Son of God. THAT WAS POSSIBLE ONLY IN TIME, NOT IN ETERNITY.
Hence, he proclaimed that, The Eternal Son of God was BEFORE The Beginning, and He was, then manifested in Time, for His Elect. In Time, He came, died, rose, and became Advocate.
The Word of Life is Eternal, Historical, Personal, and Social. Eternal Life existed BEFORE The Beginning of Time.
Jesus Christ was BEFORE The Heavens and Earth were created, and HE WAS MANIFESTED in Time. This Life was also Historical.
Christ was heard with physical ears, and seen with physical eyes. The Apostles ACTUALLY beheld Him.
Christians today, meditate upon Him; The Apostles handled Him. Christians enjoy intimate fellowship with Him.
WE SEE 3 MANIFESTATIONS, OR 3 APPEARANCES OF CHRIST IN HEBREWS 9;23-28;
HE WAS MANIFESTED IN THE ''PAST'' ON EARTH, FOR THE SALVATION OF THE ELECT.
HE IS MANIFESTED IN THE ''PRESENT'' IN HEAVEN, FOR THEIR SANCTIFICATION.
HE SHALL BE MANIFESTED IN THE ''FUTURE'' FOR THEIR GLORIFICATION.
The sin problem in I John is ''SANCTIFICATION'' rather than ''JUSTIFICATION.''
Christ's death dealt with The ''JUDICIAL'' aspect of Sin. His life deals with The ''PRACTICAL'' aspect of Sin--[Resurrection life--ROMANS 5;17--[TURN].
SANCTIFICATION INVOLVES The Advocacy of JESUS CHRIST. This life was manifested; consequently, The ELECT, who have been brought to The
Knowledge of Their Salvation, manifest that life, which flows through them.
A TRUE WITNESS OF JESUS CHRIST, HAS BEEN ENABLED BY GOD-GIVEN FAITH, TO SEE CHRIST.He then shows that Jesus Christ is his life.
God is Light, for The Believer's Walk--I JOHN I;5--''This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto
you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.''
''MESSAGE'' = An Announcemebt, A DISCLOSURE-JOHN 4;25-[TURN].
''GOD IS LIGHT,'' precisely as The Logos is Light-JOHN 1;4-9--[TURN].
What Jesus claimed to be--JOHN 8;12-[TURN].
Jesus Christ offered Himself ONCE, to put away Sin. HE WILL NEVER OFFER HIMSELF AGAIN.
Christ lives as The Advocate for The Believer, NOT The Unbeliever. He is Intercessor for Believer.
Now, in an earthly court, the identity of a lawyer, is of no consequence. BUT, THAT IS NOT TRUE in Heaven's Court. The Lord Jesus Christ is THE SAINTS' LAWYER,PLEADING HIS OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS, BEFORE THE HOLY, RIGHTEOUS FATHER. Christ has a vital interest in HIS OWN CLIENTS. He became their Surety, shedding His blood for their Redemption. After their reconciliation by His blood, HE REPRESENTS THEM BEFORE THE FATHER.
No man has a place in God's court. He is already guilty before God--
ECCLESIASTES 7;20-''For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good and sinneth not.'' His case is lost.
Christ's Advocacy manifests the believer's failure, and His security. All believers
sin. To do so is to walk in spiritual darkness.
The word ''darkness'' is used in 7 different ways in The Bible.
In JOHN 1;6, it doesn't refer to a NATURAL Darkness, but a
failure, to walk according to THE TRUTH.
A BELIEVER DOES NOT HABITUALLY PURSUE A COURSE OF DARKNESS.
However, he does walk in darkness when he backslides.
Sinless perfection in this life IS IMPOSSIBLE, for the old sin
nature has not yet been eradicated. [Jesus=my sinless perfection
at the Father's Right Hand].
Next, we see that an essential characteristic of An
Advocate is, that he MUST BE The Uncompromising Friend of The
Government. Jesus Christ is such a friend to God's Holy Law
[Government].
Human lawyers may yield to pressure, money, or some other human
persuasion. Contrarily, The Christian's Advocate yields not one
iota. He never falters, fails, or changes.
Another fundamental property of an advocate is that, HE MUST BE THE UNDEVIATING FRIEND OF THE DISHONORED LAW. Jesus Christ
fulfilled EVERY LETTER OF THE LAW. He, Alone, is qualified for Advocacy for Christians.
Human lawyers seek ways of ignoring broken law, or, of misreprepresenting the contents
of the law.
Christ honors The Law. To dishonor it, would be to dishonor Himself, because it is
HIS LAW.
Then, A Qualifier for Advocacy must be inherently Righteous. Jesus Christ, The
Son of God, is clear of complicity in ANY of the crimes of the sinner.
Next, One who is equipped for Advocacy, must be The Compassionate Friend of the
sinner. Jesus Christ proves that, HE POSSESSES that Attribute. He died for The
Believer, became his Surety, and intercedes on his behalf, all of which manifests His
Compassion for the sinner.
Next we see that, A Suitable Advocate willingly volunteers gratuitous service.
Jesus Christ HAS ALREADY PAID The Price on Calvary, and He charges the believer
NOTHING for His service.
Then, We see that A GOOD PLEA IS VITAL FOR ADVOCACY. The believer's Advocate
pleads HIS OWN CHARACTER, WHICH IS RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Jesus Christ loved The Elect, and voluntarily took an interest in them. The Just One
proved His interest, by becoming The Substitute for unjust ones.
Christ, The Anointed One,has the authority, to plead the believer's case. Jesus
Christ,The Righteous, demonstrates His plea.
Now, CHRIST'S ADVOCACY SUPPOSES FOUR THINGS;
[1] There is an offender. Christians offend everyday.
[2] There is An Accuser. SATAN SEEKS TO PREVENT CHRISTIANS from performing The Will of
God; and when they fail, he accuses them before God.
[3] There is A Judge. God is The Righteous Judge.
[4] There is A Defense. Jesus Christ is The Defender, Christ's Advocacy delares that
believers are sorry creatures. ONLY GOD'S GRACE, WITHIN THEM, IS WORTHY.
Christ's Advocacy is required to keep believers CLEAN. God has well provided
for them; blood to wash, priest to intercede, and advocate to plead.
Now, We see that, NO NEW SACRIFICE is made by The Advocate--Jesus Christ does
not offer Himself for sin. He does not die for sin, and the salvation of no one is
obtained. Saved ones are kept safe through advocacy. He sanctifies them in that office.
As Saviour, He obtained eternal redemption for the elect. As Advocate, He maintains
their right thereto.
Now, Christ's Priesthood differs from His Advocacy--
PRIEST ADVOCATE
He sits. He stands pleading.
He is Merciful and Faithful He is Faithful and Just.
Represents infirm saints before He is there, to help.
The Father.
Gives frace to restrain saints represents sinning believers
Saints approach Him boldly Approach with humility, confessing
sins.
Ever lives to intercede Pleads His death on cross
Goes before saints. comes after saints.
Advocates, among men, frequently deny allegations, brought against clients;
Christ admits those brought against His clients.
Then, advocates before men, if they admit the charge, seek to justify it.
CHRIST PLEADS NO EXCUSE FOR BELIEVERS. They are guilty, but HE PLEADS HIS OWN MERIT.
NEXT, Lawyers among men, undertake their work NOT FROM love or justice, or Humanity, but for personal consideration.
But Christ has in mind The Glory of God. He is concerned for glorifying God's Justice.
Then we see that, many lawyers are concerned with personal achievement.
Advovates among men seek to influence minds of Adjudicators. Christ DOES NOT influence
The Father-He knows all. . . Christ influences His clients.
Then, lawyers among men at times relinquish their briefs to protect self-respect and reputation. Christ is NEVER TAKEN BY SURPRISE. He knows all about His clients. Therefore His Briefs are NEVER RELINQUISHED.

RESTORATIVE FORGIVENESS-3
Romans 5;6-10--[Turn]. In Verse 10, both EVERLASTING and RESTORATIVE FORGIVENESS are
taught.
NOW, I want to say that Everlasting Forgiveness MUST BE ASSOCIATED with RECONCILIATION.
The Person, who has been everlastingly forgiven, has been reconciled to The Father,
and saved by Christ's Life.
THE SINNER IS FORGIVEN IN JUSTIFICATION.
THE SAINT IS FORGIVEN IN SANCTIFICATION.
Sin cannot make its way in to God's Presence. Jesus Christ prevents THAT.
If it were possible, for a person's sin to enter God's Presence, that person would be banished in judgment.
Sin does make way into the believer's presence, causing him, to lose fellowship with
The LORD,and severing The Joy of his Salvation.
Enjoyment of the things of The Lord is experienced through Restorative
Forgiveness.
Sins in the saint's life, AFFECTS HIS THOUGHTS, about God and Sin. He begins to look
lightly upon sin, and loses sight of God's Holiness.
Now, Get this truth; REAL CHRISTIANS DESIRE NOT TO SIN. . . When they do sin, they
should avoid despair, for Jesus Christ is their Advocate--GALATIANS 6;1--[Turn].
They are kept safe by Christ's Advocacy, and are kept in fellowship by
confession.
A believer's failure to confess sin HINDERS The Testimony of both The Christian, and
the local Church--
Proverbs 28;13--''he that covereth his sins shall not prosper; but whoso
confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.''
Nothing can hinder A Christian's Standing in The LORD;
His State, however, is imperfect.
He should pray with profound sincerity, that The Lord forgive his trespasses.
He needs to reflect on his abiding need for cleansing from all sin, by Christ's Blood.
Jesus Christ cleanses the believer from all sin. Not one of a believer's sins can
enter God's Presence;
Jesus Christ is There, pleading His own merit.
Satan stands at the believer's side. He does his work at The Court of Conscience, at
The Bar of public opinion.
However, he also APPEARS before The Divine Judge.
THE BELIEVER'S ADVOCATE requits Satan, alleges God's Election, AND POINTS TO THE
BELIEVER, AS A TROPHY OF GOD'S MERCY.
EVERY TIME A CHRISTIAN SINS, CHRIST'S BLOOD IS THERE, TO CLEANSE HIM.
Conversely, the sins of the lost are credited to their accounts. All the sins they commit, are treasured up for punishment--
Romans 2;5--''But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God.''
''after thy hardness''--According to your hardness will God's Judgment be.
''and impenitent heart''--your unconstructed heart with no change of attitude.
''treasurest up for thyself wrath''--for the Jews, as already sated for the GGentiles [1;18].
There is a revelation of God's Wrath for both, on The Day of Wrath, and Righteous
Judgment, which Paul looks to, as a certainty.
When unbelievers stand before The Lord, at The Great White Throne Judgment, all their
sins will be reviewed, and judged by The Wrath of God.
REVELATION 20;11-15--TURN
Verse 11--''A Great White Thhrone''--Here, the scene is prepared for the last judgment, mentioned in the Bible.
The absolute purity of The Supreme Court of Heaven of The Universe is symbolized by the color of the THRONE.
Daniel 7;9--''I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and The Ancient of Days did
sit, whose garment was as white as snow; and the hair of his head like the pure wool;
his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.''
The Name of God is not mentioned, but The Almighty Father sits on the Throne--
Revelation 4;2,9;5;1,7,13--[Turn].
6;16--''And said to the mountains and rocks, Fallon us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.''
7;10, 15--''And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth
upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and
serve him day and night in his temple; and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.''
19;4--''And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped
God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.''
21;5--''And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all thongs new. And he said unto me, Write; for these words are true and faithful.''
The Son sits There, with The FATHER--Hebrews 1;3-[turn].
The Son works with The Father--John 5;19-21--[TURN].
Acts 17;31--''Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in
righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto
all men; in that he hath raised him from the dead.''
I Timothy 4;1--''I charge thee before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge
the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom.''
''From whose face the earth and the heaven fled away.'' The non-eternity of
matter is commonly taught in The Old Testament
Psalm 97;5--''The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.''
Psalm 102;27--''But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.''
Isaiah 51;6--[TURN].
It is also taught in the New Testament--
MARK 13;31--''Heaven and Earth shall pass away; but my words shall not pass away.''
2 PETER 3;10--''But the Day of the LORD shall come as a thief in the night; in the which the heaven shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.''
''WAS FOUND''--All now is Spiritual.
VERSE 12-[read].
''The Dead, The Great, and The Small''
The Ressurrection of The Damned in Verse 13 is pictured by anticipation as already
over.
No living are mentioned, after the battle of verses 7-10, though some will be living
when Jesus comes to judge The Quick and The Dead--II TIMOTHY 4;1--[TURN].
All classes and conditions John saw ''standing before the throne''--REVELATION 11;18
[TURN].
REVELATION 13;16--''And he caused all both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark, or the name of the Beast, or the number of his name.''
19;5,18--''And a voice camme out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his
servants; and ye that fear him, both small and great. . .That ye may eat the flesh of
kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond,
both small and great.''
''Books were opened''--The record of each human being has been kept, in God''s Books.
''were judged''--The sentence upon each, rests upon written evidence.
''Another book which is The Book of Life''--This Book, has already been mentioned in
3;5; 13;8 and 17;8.
It is the roll of the living citizens of New Jerusalem, The Church of The Firstborn in
Heaven--HEBREWS 12;23--[TURN].
We are saved by grace; works demonstrate we lack absolute righteousness of God, and
need Jesus' Work.
VERSE 13--[READ]
''gave up''-The Earth gave up the lost dead; The Sea gave up fallen angels.
''Death and Hell''--An inseparable Pair
1;18--''I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore,
Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.''
6;8a--''And I looked, and behold a pale horse, and his name that sat on him was
Death, and Hell followed him.''

GOD'S RESTORATIVE FORGIVENESS-2
Joshua stood before the LORD--Zechariah 3;1--[Turn]. A sense of shame is more acute, when one is in God's presence.
In The World's Twilight, much may pass unnoticed, which in the light of God, MUST BE
CONDEMNED.
Everything is open, to The Lord--
Hebrews 4;13--''Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight; but
all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him, with whom we have to do.''
''that is not manifest''=not shown. God's Microscope can lay bare the smallest microbe
of doubt and sin.
''naked''--Both soul and body are naked to the eyes of God.
''opened''-''laid open''--VERB=To bend back the neck, as the surgeon does, before
operating. God sees ALL the facts in our inmost hearts.
''with whom we have to do''--With Whom the matter, or account for us, is.
When the white light of God's Presence shines upon a Christian, he cries with Job,
''If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean; yet shalt thou
plunge me in the ditch and mine own clothes shall abhor me'' [9;30-31].
God is Holy. Therefore, no one can stand before Him, and declare himself, clean.
Now, Get this truth; THE MORE, A PERSON KNOWS ABOUT THE LORD, HE LOATHES HIMSELF
AND REPENTS.
Restorative Forgiveness is necessary, EVERY DAY of one's life.
Satan stood at Joshua's right hand, to resist him [Zechariah 3;1].
The Devil stands beside every child of God, to resist and accuse him.
Satan seeks to prevent the believer, from DOING God's Will.
Then, when the believer FAILS, Satan ACCUSES him, before the LORD.
Nevertheless, The Lord Jesus Christ is The Christian's Advocate. He sits at The Father's Right Hand, and stands to plead the believer's case.
Christians stand in Him, WHO REPRESENTS THEM, TO THE FATHER.
The LORD rebuked Satan, and reminded him, that He has chosen Israel.
HE CHOSE THEM FOR his Loves--Song of Solomon 7;12-''Let us get up early to the vineyards; let us see if the vine flourish, whether the tender grape appear; and the
pomegranates bud forth; there will I give my loves.''
Israel was a ''brand plucked out of the fire,''--a figurative expression of the
punishment Israel had endured, in Babylonian Captivity.
THEY HAD BEEN DISOBEDIENT;
THE LORD HAD CHASTENED THEM, AND THEN, DELIVERED THEM.
GOD DIDN'T DELIVER ISRAEL, from Egypt, or from Babylon, TO DESTROY THEM.
ALL BELIEVERS WERE CHOSEN IN CHRIST, BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD.
There is a sense, in which, they too, are plucked from the fire of judgment, when the
Lord calls them out from the people of the world--
I Peter 1;2--''Elect according to the foreknowledge of God, The Father, through
sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus
Christ; Grace unto you, and peace be mulitiplied.''
The Lord also delivers them from punishment for sins, they commit, AFTER THEY ARE
SAVED.
But sin removes THE ENJOYMENT of God's Promises.
CHRISTIANS, WITH UNCONFESSED SINS, CANNOT ENJOY GOD'S PROMISES, OR, BLESSINGS, UNTIL
THEY CONFESS THEIR SIN;
THEY ARE NOT RESTORED TO FELLOWSHIP.
Jesus Christ offered Himself, once in the end of The Age, to put away sin--Hebrews 9;
26 [TURN].
NO ADDITIONAL PROPITIATION is nnecessary, to forgive the believer, who has been everlastingly forgiven.
Christ died to put away Sin's Penalty, FROM THE ELECT;
He lives, to put away SIN, FROM within the Elect.
Christ's death, on the cross, destroyed SIN'S PENALTY for belivers.
The Ever-living Christ DESTROYS SIN'S POWER OVER BELIEVERS.
